Picasso said 'Painting is not made to decorate'. I ponder this as I look at the bare white walls of our unfinished new home. Great art has the potential to be transcending. It can gift us a transient moment when we feel lifted above the ordinary and feel connected to something bigger. It can still a feeling of awe and make time stop, be it for an instance. Indeed, why settle for one that merely decorates.
Art Makes A Room is my pursuit of that kind of art and how to bring that experience to the spaces that we exist in. And it is a recored of my own becoming of an artist who aspires to make great art, creatively and intellectually.
